Couples Therapist, Maternal Mental Health Therapist
Hello! I’m glad you’re here.
I’m Dr. Amanda Tan, a licensed clinical psychologist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. As an Asian female, I am sensitive to the interactions between systemic problems and the individual experiences of each client. I am also a mother to three little girls, and understand that the journey of parenthood is both joyful and frustrating.
I’ve helped many clients navigate issues such as perinatal adjustment, acculturative and immigration stress, work burnout, relationship and familial conflict, grief, and various role transitions. My past experiences include working in hospital psychiatric programs for adolescents and adults, and consulting in primary care clinics. I am passionate about helping women and young families, and am certified in perinatal mental health (PMH-C) and am a certified facilitator for SYMBIS.
In my spare time, I enjoy coffee, reading, and writing. You can find some of my thoughts on motherhood here.
